Ofsted clearly shouldn’t be inspecting schools at this point, but it seems clear that no one has told them not to, so they are continuing to truck on under outdated guidelines.

We’ve stoped all unnecessary visitors in our school because of infection control, I think OFSTED should definitely be regarded as unnecessary visitors!!

They can’t expect schools to carry on completely as normal, whilst providing cover for sick and absent teachers and face Ofsted inspections.

Actually David Didau has tweeted that his consultancy work has dried up and he’s willing to help out as supply in the Bristol area if anyone’s interested.

The Scottish inspectorate have halted inspections. It does seem a bit ‘well it’s alright for you lot to be in but we’re not coming near’ though.

Actually I raised the point that having supply teachers going from school to school isn’t such a good idea. I got poo poohed.

Saw on twitter today that basically Ofsted don’t have the authority to stop inspections, just as heads don’t have the authority to close schools. Ofsted need a decision from the DfE which should come this week.

In the meantime, if a head gets the call, they should ask to have the inspection deferred.

They were due to inspect our LEA's child exploitation team this week, but because it would involve other agencies such as police, healthcare, etc, and they are, er..., a bit busy with other things, it has been postponed.

Wow. All heart, aren’t they?!

Thankfully the re inspection of our LEA SEND services has finished recently so we could all have a good vent at inspector

'Right, will Patient Inspector Zero sit here, the space is free because our SENCO is currently in hospital on a ventilator, Patient Inspector One pop over to Maths, so they can see how we're doing with a slightly smaller class, don't forget your antibac, as there are a few children in there with a little cough and cold - oh, and Three and Four, please feel free to sit in with Mrs Patterson as she maintains the absence notifications, but you'll need to take a couple of chairs as she also runs Medical - I'm sure she'll be delighted if you could sit and chat to the 17 students she's got in there with fevers and waiting to be collected by their parents whilst she deals with the breaktime onslaught?'.

And .... Ofsted are finally allowed to suspend inspections.
