Supply teaching and universal credit

I've recently started supply teaching as I was burnt out in full time class teaching and needed to be around more for my dd. I love it and have plenty of work so far but I'm a bit worried about budgeting for the holidays as I'm also single parent. Are there any other single parent supply teachers that can advise me if I can claim universal credit over the holidays etc?

How many days do you work? If you work 16 hours or more and make less than £20kish, then you should be eligible for Working Tax Credits all year round.

I do work more than 16 hours and depending on how many days per work I week it's about £20,000 I earn I think but my area has all gone over to universal credit now instead of tax credits so I know I will have to claim universal credits but probably earn too much per week/month to claim Them during term time

If you claim universal credit but earn too much sometimes they will deduct it and not pay anything but you still have a running claim so when your earnings decrease in unpaid holiday times they will account for that and pay you. I found the system works well as a single parent supply teacher on temporary unfixed income. You are exactly the type of person it was designed to help. Not that you'll ever hear positive stories of UC in the media.

I've spoken to a few Supply teachers who confirmed they claimed over the summer holidays but does anyone know if I'd be able to claim for the Easter and Christmas holidays as well as the summer holidays?
