Hi
Is there a protocol for Governors choosing new management direction when current head resigns? E.G can gov decide to go from teaching head to non teaching shared head without consulting staff or parents?
Thank you

As far as I know, they can. It's a strategic decision. The Local Authority advisor might also be involved, but I can't think of any reason why parents would be involved. The senior leaders may possibly be asked.

Thank you, so confusing as some union documents state to become a soft federation govs must hold a consultation period including staff/parents. But then I know of a few other schools where govs have made decision singlehanded!

What sort of "soft federation"?

Shared head but separate governing bodies & budgets.
