I want to work with grown ups!

I just need to get this off my chest.

Apparently, the volunteer dance teacher at school made an emailed complaint about me because I "Pushed her hand off the keyboard when she was getting the music up for a performance while saying I I'll do it" All I did was say, "I'll do it" in a "don't worry" type tone as I wanted to click on the correct version of the song we had learned, I didn't push her hand off the keyboard and if I did touch her, it was an accident - no malice at all. I don't have it in me!
My head has to investigate because it was an emailed complaint. Dance Teacher left on Friday in tears and wouldn't say what the matter was to the HT, until today. I have had minimal contact with her as her lessons fall on days I haven't been in or on PPA. As far as I can remember, I've only said nice, complimentary things to the DT.
My reaction has been incredulity as this seems like such a storm in a teacup. Really, I want to work with grown ups!! I would never dream of making a formal complaint about something so f-ing trivial.

Rant over. As you were!

Offering my sympthy op, i feel for you as I’ve had a similar situation in the past. I just breathe deeply and keep smiling.

I feel you. I despair that most of the teenagers I work with are more sensible than the people I meet in the staff room...

Hopefully, they'll see sense and realise the dance teacher was being a drama lama.

I had similar just the other day but only heard about it from a close colleague. A colleague who I don't even work with told my close colleague in her first week that I was stuck up because I'm quiet!

Thankfully, close colleague realises what sort of person she is and defended me by saying that she clearly doesn't know me at all.

Perhaps 10 years ago I would have been upset about this sort of comment but I've got to the stage where I think life is too short to give any ducks about what people think of you.

Oh flipping heck I feel for you. Some people do like to cause a drama over nothing. I had a cleaner complain to the head about me because she wiped a table that had all my paperwork on (making it sipping wet) and I sighed..... I made her feel bad.
Hope this blows over soon, I get one well with the cleaner now.

Oh god I hear you. I’m becoming the grumpy old woman of the staff room. I referred to a group of PE staff as ‘the children in the tracksuits’ the other day and almost got a round of applause from other staff. Blush

Fortunately none of the children heard me so I won’t die on that hill, this time.
