Just that. SLT often get a lot of stick but my head is brilliantly supportive, full of praise of us, has a great sense of work/life balance and has our back with everything. He's the only male amongst a sea of women in a Nursery and infant school. How can we show him he's appreciated?

Tell him.
:)
My DH has always appreciated people just saying thank you (specific is best).

Tell him. Ours is good - and I've occasionally stuck my head in his door or emailed him to tell him he's doing well. He's always chuffed.

(I also happily tell him when I think he's made a hash of something).

Schools need a bit of honesty - and I'm old enough to not care.

Yeah, say something.

I regret now not telling my previous head how much I appreciated his quiet, unswerving backing up of his staff. He was a fantastic head.
