Telling new head Im pregnant

Started this school in September and I'm only entitled to SMP.
This is my first child and not sure what the norm is in terms of telling school. Do I tell my HOD? Do I go straight to the head? What do I say?

I haven't had my 12 weeks scan yet but due in the summer holidays.

I've then usually told my HoD, but I've always got on with them well and I've taken my lead from them as to what to do after that, but the next thing would be to tell the Head - I always went in person.

Congratulations! Everyone you tell will congratulate you and be very happy about the news! The summer holidays is good timing - you can officially work until the day the baby is born, then take a full academic year off (if you want/can afford it).
