Am interested in finding out more about this, is it for primary, or secondary? I believe there is a First World War Centenary Battlefield Tours Programme funded by the Department for Education. Is it apart of this - just really need steering in the right direction really, can anyone help please?

Do you mean "£1.7 million for educational programmes in schools to mark the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Bergen-Belsen"?
(The budget speech is here: gov.uk/government/speeches/budget-2018-philip-hammonds-speech.)

This suggests that charities will be able to bid for money to run projects and visits: cfoi.co.uk/government-allocates-1-7m-for-educational-school-trips-to-bergen-belsen/.

The existing WW1 scheme is here, and offers to send one teacher and two pupils from every state-funded secondary school: centenarybattlefieldtours.org

The £1.7 million for educational programmes is separate. There is a First World War Centenary Battlefield Tours Secondary Programme already set up. Delivered by the UCL Institute of Education and Equity School Travel. It’s was a 5 year initiative funded by the Department for Education and allows all state maintained secondary schools to send 1 teacher and 2 pupils free of charge this ends in Spring 2019 so Im guessing the extra £1million will be to extend the programme I think
