We have got new all singing all dancing IWBs (except they're black, so IBB!!) in our classes.
I have no clue how or why they are better than the old ones until i start using them i guess.
Can any of you tech savvy teachers give me some pointers?!

Is it a C-Touch one? If so, we've been so underwhelmed with ours. They look smart as hell but the sound on them is appalling and we've had a lot of problems with them stopping responding to touch. Hope I haven't pissed on your chips, OP! :D

Hmmmm...Thought that might be the case!
Luckily i'm not having chips tonight!

I've got one. It doesn't work and I can't write on it.
The kids enjoy watching the big telly though.

Eeeekk! You can't write on it?! My whiteboard has gone too, so i won't have anything to write on!
Suppose there's always the flipchart.... (is it 1980 again?!)
Fizzyhedgehog · 01/09/2018 14:31
Well...at least you've got a big telly. I've got an old school blackboard and chalk! 🤦♀️ We haven't got Wi-Fi, so can't even take my iPad in. I nicked a flipchart from a store room...
The kids aren't fussed. They don't know any better. They go excited about my new flipchart. 😁

When I am not using my black screen the students like to use it as a large mirror! [h'mm]

Is it a touchscreen TV panel, or does it need a projector?
DrMadelineMaxwell · 06/09/2018 21:32
We got rid of our interactive whiteboards in favour of huge non-touchscreen TVs last year because the HT is an apple convert and ipads are king.
Except they are not. I can't write legibly and neatly AND small on the ipad screen even with a stylus and it looks terrible. And I miss being able to model how to draw things on the overlay pages. So useful and much missed.

I love my touchscreen TV. Is that what you have?
honeysucklejasmine · 08/09/2018 09:39
That sounds awful. Imo the best combination is a projector on to a traditional roller white board (i.e. dry erase one with multiple surfaces you spin round). So I can project slides, play videos, and draw chemical structures and mechanisms by hand.
I had an IWB and I rarely used it.
