20% fully funded pay rise for teachers from September

Made you look.

The real story is obviously that the DfE are refusing to release details of teachers’ pay rises for September and whether this pay rise will be funded by the government or whether schools will have to find the money out of their own budgets (this would have huge implications for school funding). Suspicions are that teachers may get a 3.5% pay rise, but whether this would be funded is unknown.

Parliament goes into summer recess on Tuesday. There may be an announcement before then, there may not.

Either way, it’s unacceptable to leave this announcement so late in the day.

I feel you, doctors are the same. The DDRB report regarding recommendations on pay was published and given to the government in april and we still haven’t heard anything...

School business manager here. Impossible to budget for September! I've put in 2%, but that's just a hunch. We're not a maintained school or an academy, although pupils are state funded, so no idea whether we would be included in any funding arrangement.

Oh you rascal, I fell for it! But only because I know the announcement is supposed to be soon. Not because I had mentally already spent it in the 0.3 seconds the thread took to open.

Sorry prof! Grin

Didn’t know they hadn’t announced doctors pay either. I wonder if health and education are fighting out at the treasury who gets what little money we have.

They’ll blame the delay on Brexit.
