Anyone working in Reception EYFS find the assessment hugely laborious?

I'm a Reception teacher and am finding my termly assessment against the ELGs unbelievably time consuming to do.
Is there a quick way round this?

What do you use to assess? We use an online learning journey which automatically 'ticks off' the objectives once they've been linked to an observation. Still a big task to input the assessments to the tracker but not half as long as it used to be when we highlighted the DM statements.

We do both because our iPad tracking system doesn't capture everything and also doesn't allow you to link an observation to different parts of the elg or the exceeding descriptor. I just can believe what a cumbersome time consumption bf system it is,
