Then brags about it on Facebook. What would be your thoughts on this?
Thank you.

Seriously?

Tour · 15/03/2018 09:38

No way. Would be sacked here.

MyBrilliantDisguise · 15/03/2018 09:39

Didn't happen, is what I'd think.

Not if it was a school teacher. A sports coach might be different.

user1483387154 · 15/03/2018 09:40

Report to school ofsted and police

Thequeenisdeadboys · 15/03/2018 09:40

More info needed. Sounds like a joke.

Appuskidu · 15/03/2018 09:40

I would imagine it never happened.

ememem84 · 15/03/2018 09:40

Say what?!

If this is true. How old are the kids (not that makes any difference really as still inappropriate) but different if boys are 8 or 18 iyswim.

Where were they? Only asking because we did a school trip to Pompeii when I was younger. There is a brothel there. Or was. It’s part of the tour. So could it be a sports tour which also took in some historical sights...

StylishMummy · 15/03/2018 09:41

I call bullshit

wholenewoutlook · 15/03/2018 09:41

Was it an error that the teacher is laughing about retrospectively although it was mortifying at the time and they all got out of there asap?
Colleagues took me to a Karaoke bar in Vietnam which was a brothel. 'They hadn't noticed the women were working when they had been before' !

AnoiaUnstickMyDrawers · 15/03/2018 09:46

What?!
I do have a vague recollection of hearing about a secondary school trip to Amsterdam (I was on a different trip) that did a walk through the red light district. No idea if it was on purpose/they were lost/if there was a teacher present though. Was it something like that?
Also, when you say boys, what age are we talking? Primary? GCSE? 6th form?

Presumably a legal brothel abroad would have issues with under 18s ish being in there? An illegal one brings up even more questions...

LARLARLAND · 15/03/2018 09:52

I am not on Facebook but have seen a screenshot. It was a few years ago. The boys were all sixth formers (both years).

More info needed

LARLARLAND · 15/03/2018 10:28

That's pretty much all I know WickedLazy. Thankfully my children were not involved. The teacher said something along the lines of 'is it wrong to be proud that my [sports team] went to a brother/lapdancing bar?'

ferrier · 15/03/2018 10:51

Did he take them or did they take themselves in their free time?
I went on a tour which included Amsterdam when I was around 15. On our free time we ended up in the red light district. If we'd have been of age we could have gone in of our own volition.

Foxsox · 15/03/2018 19:28

For real?

It's a massive safeguarding issue.

shushpenfold · 15/03/2018 19:30

Is the teacher still at the same school? If so, you need to report to the Head.

FlibbertyGiblets · 15/03/2018 19:32

Why the delay in raising concerns? Odd.

turnipfarmers · 15/03/2018 19:35

Wishful thinking or a vivid imagination?

BarryTheKestrel · 15/03/2018 19:38

is it wrong to be proud that my [sports team] went to a brother/lapdancing bar?'

Sort of sounds like they went on their own in free time, rather than he took them.

Definitely not something to brag about though when dealing with 16/17 year olds.

Anasnake · 15/03/2018 19:38

I've been in the Pompeii brothel, it's fascinating!

DioneTheDiabolist · 15/03/2018 19:40

My thought would be to complain to the school.

Anasnake · 15/03/2018 19:43

How long ago was this ???

BlessYourCottonSocks · 15/03/2018 19:43

Don't believe it happened.

You would be sacked immediately and barred from teaching.

I've taught for nearly 30 years and it would always have been the case. Now you would probably find yourself on the sex offenders list if a single one of them was under 18. It would certainly be a police case and you would not boast about it on Facebook.

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 15/03/2018 19:49

There is no room for any kind of truth on facebook. All the air is sucked up by bullshit and gullibility.

LARLARLAND · 15/03/2018 19:59

Thank you for the replies. I think the scenario was much like that described by Barry. I am not on Facebook and I can't understand why a teacher would talk about it so publicly.
