Are parent-teacher relationships totally banned or just discouraged?

Are relationships between a teacher (primary school) and a parent (single) just discouraged or a disciplinary offence?

Both are single. The child isn't taught by the teacher in question. Will most colleagues of the teacher resent the parent? I'm guessing school social occasions would be awkward.

As for the question which is bound to be asked - why do you care? Because I do.

And no, I'm not a troll or a goady fucker. I am a name changer though.

Why would they be? Both grown, consenting adults. Even if teaching the child in question they couldn't be banned although the judgements made about that child should be handled by someone else. But that's just my opinion.

But you can teach your own child, making you both a parent and a teacher at the School. Why would social occasions be awkward?

Yes, it is discouraged but not banned. By the way, If you fancy your child's teacher then at least make the post a bit more subtle.

Maybe it's because you think it's "dangerous" and because the teacher is in a position of responsibility that you fancy them? Hmm

Given that lots of teachers live locally to their school and many schools now being huge (1000+ pupils) I think completely avoiding any teacher ever having a relationship with anybody who was/ had been a parent at their school would be slim.

As long as it's handled professionally I don't see the problem really. Might be better to leave it until the child is not in that teacher's class anymore.

Our head has had a relationship with another teacher and with a parent!
