My questions are: what can Y1 children do in Sep?! Can they sit at a desk? Can they write a date? Or do they still wander around as they did in Reception? I like a quiet

Molly a fellow TEACHER asked me if I had banged my nose the other day. I had to say "no, it is a spot and I need more concealer." The children, on the other hand, were too polite to mention it Hmm.

HA! I too am teaching Y1 next year coming from a KS2 background. I had my transition day yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised by how well they sat and listened to my all singing, all dancing story. I even had a little drawing/writing activity which they completed (yay me!)
I did survive teach R about 2 years ago but had forgotten how much they touch you as well as how random they are.

Me: "Hands up if you can tell me......"
Chd 1 "I'm getting a dog for Christmas!"

Me: Who knows that comes after this number.....?
Chd 2 "My daddy drinks beer!"

I'm really looking forward to having some bonkers fun as opposed to teaching stroppy tweenagers! Bring it on!
