Just that really. I have had a google and found articles where this may have happened in Bristol. It is in the balance (or so it seems) with my DC's secondary school. Has anyone any experience of this please?

No direct experience but IIRC it happened to about a dozen schools in Leeds a couple of years ago. A failing trust was required to give them up and the council was expected just to pick them up overnight. Not sure whether they stayed in council control or were brokered out to new trust(s). Would imagine it is not a good sign as DFE on a mission to wrest everything away from councils, so they'd have to be desperate to hand anything back.

Thank you Party. This case is odd because at the EGM of the council they voted for the Academy Trust to be removed from the school.
