TLR payments in primary schools

I know most primary teachers are expected to take on a subject coordinators role but which subjects are eligible for a TLR payment? Presuming not things like RE, PSHE but Maths and English?

TLR payments are totally varied from school to school. It depends how the schools chooses to structure its middle leadership team. Some schools therefore have several TLR posts (sometimes at varying pay points) and others have just a couple.

No TLRs at our school.

In fact, there is no money for paper or glue at our school either...!

Not sure if it's significant, but it's a private school following fringe pay scale.

There is not such thing as 'eligible'. Just what the Head and Governors decide to pay them for. I expect they will become increasingly rare.

To add, I will be head of a core subject across eyfs - KS2 and leading transition to ks3. Not quite sure how to ask if they'll be a salary increase? Or do I just bite the bullet?

It is at the governors' discretion.

Rainbowsandunicorns88 · 04/05/2017 18:00

No governors as its independent

Most private schools at least follow the state school system in terms of pay or offer something better. For what you are doing you should definitely ask for a TLR payment.

Charmatt · 04/05/2017 18:45

It's still discretionary but without it it is not very appealing.

Rainbowsandunicorns88 · 04/05/2017 19:15

Yeah I've had nothing in writing about these leadership roles nor money so will raise it.
