On Friday I told my class that I'm leaving at the end of term. We have mixed year groups, so the younger ones had expected to stay with me. They cried :-( Cue the worst, trickiest, self-centered, nightmare parents all queuing up to email or stop-me-in-the-street to whine about how much they'll miss me!

Well **ck you!
You're the ones who wrote 3 page emails to the Head on a Friday night.
You're the ones who complained about precious Jemima having to sit next to "That Black Boy From Whereever".
You're the ones who don't read with your child.
You're the ones who let me give your child breakfast.
You're the ones who either flatly deny that your child has extra learning needs, or insist they have learning needs when they simply don't they're just lazy.

You're the ones who kept me awake til 2am.
You're the ones who wake me up at 4am.
You're the ones who made me vomit every morning.
You're the ones who put me on medication for my blood pressure.

You, and the ridiculous admin, stats, data, etc ...

I join the statistics. S*d the lot of you nasty parents who made my life hell because I just wasn't good enough for your precious darling.

I really needed to say all that somewhere, because I sure as hll can't say it to their faces, even though I wish I could.* Thank you for letting me vent. Smile Wine Cake Chocolate

You're welcome! Hope you feel a bit better now you've got that off your chest! Are you leaving teaching altogether, or going to pastures new? Enjoy the holidays, anyway, and good luck. Wine Flowers

Bless you and here, on behalf of the silliest parents Wine.

Grin Be free, learn what it is to get a good night's sleep and wake up without your teeth grinding and your body already rigid with the tension.
Find something that suits you better and be happy.

LockedOutOfMN · 17/07/2016 17:24

Congratulations! Flowers

Is there a way you can "accidentally" print off your original post and pop a copy into each child's bag on the last day of term?

Or become the Secret Teacher next week.

DullUserName · 17/07/2016 17:28

Ooh ... don't tempt me! [Grin]

Just need to be successful with one of the job applications then I can stop worrying about references...

I did that Christmas of 2014... I now work p/t self employed in a completely different field and I am just now contemplating some non school teaching, maybe mentoring... The sense of relief is immense.

Best of luck, whatever jobs you are applying for.

wobblywonderwoman · 17/07/2016 17:39

Ah... That is why I left teaching in a formal capacity fifteen years ago.

Enjoy

Flowers and well done

flowerfairy · 17/07/2016 19:35
Flowers Am in a similar position having left recently and am starting an admin job in September. Am apprehensive as will not be earning as much and will mean I won't have all of the holidays with my kids. But hopefully my mental and physical health will be reward enough for the drop in wages!
DraenorQueen · 17/07/2016 19:38

Massive clap on the back for getting out - sounds like a bloody awful place! I hope you haven't lost your love of teaching entirely and find a fab job in a supportive school.

KyloRenNeedsTherapy · 17/07/2016 19:44

Parents are the worst thing about teaching Blush. They really are.

They make teachers' lives miserable in so many ways. I do wonder if they'd do it if they realised the impact they have.

elQuintoConyo · 17/07/2016 19:46

Good grief, i was hyperventilating just reading your post!

Best wishes for a much less stressful future Flowers
