Student pay-back (in a lovely way)

(I teach overseas, so when I mention G12, that translates to Y13.)

My G12 students have just told me that they will be paying for my ticket to the Graduation Ball. That's quite a bit of money!

I am so incredibly chuffed. And, yes, this is a bit of a stealth boast.

It's not 'why' we do it, but it is so rewarding when we are acknowledged by our own students. It reminds us why it is the best job in the world.

I know primary teachers have gratitude expressed to them in different ways by their students.

We are valued and we do make a difference.

That's lovely. When I went on mat leave my year 11 group presented me with a bouquet made of chocolates and a soft toy for the baby and told me they would miss me! I was so touched, it is lovely to be appreciated.
Enjoy the ball.

They must have really appreciated you.

And it is so lovely when your students do let you know that you are appreciated.

My whole week will be walked with a spring in my step.

Well done! That's really nice. At Christmas my Yr. 8 tutor group had clubbed together to give me some little gifts but best of all they had made me a big card and secretly arranged for someone to take a photo of them then printed it and stuck it inside. I was so touched.
