What the Head wants, the Head gets.

These are the words of the
Head himself when I was employed 4 years ago.

Our budget is poor for the next year and
Major cuts are predicted. There's a conspiracy theory running around school at the moment - staff feel that our budget is absolutely fine and that the Head is giving us a bleak report in order to get rid of staff he no longer likes.

Is this do-able? Can Heads Lie to his staff about budgets just to 'justify' getting rid of staff he doesn't like?

There would be both a teacher rep and another 'staff rep' on the Governing body usually - they will see budgets and forecasts and spending plans. Ask them.

This is likely to be confidential and you'd be putting your governor reps in a v difficult position. ask the chair of govs for minutes of full governing meetings. these have to be made public unless they go through a specific procedure to make part confidential
