Advice from Early Years Teachers please!

Hello,

I'm looking into the Early Years Teachers Status course and was wondering how others found the experience. (It used to be called the Early Years Professional Status I believe.)

I intend to go through the mainstream graduate route. Is it a very intensive course? How many hours do you put in and how is time split between university and nursery settings? I have two young children and hope I find it manageable!

Once completed, what are job prospects like?

Thanks for reading!

I've heard of this role, but have never known anyone within a school setting to have it (the EYPS, I mean). Do you have QTS at the end of it?

I know this is an old thread but I've been looking into this course but can't actually find any jobs with this qualification when I do a job search? Are there any early years teachers on mumsnet or anyone with this the qualification? I have a degree but no work experience and this is an area I would like to get into
