Returning to teaching after a 7 year break

So I'm ready to go back (Y5/6) but aware my skills are way out of date!

What's the best route to take to build confidence before throwing myself back into the lion's den . Volunteering? Refresher course?

Any ideas/experiences to share?

I heard somewhere that there aren't any refresher courses anymore, but your area might be different. I would suggest starting off with some volunteering and then dipping your toe in the supply pool - loads of work for supply teachers round here. Would help you work out where you want a permanent job too.
