I'm applying for teaching and know I need to complete the test but other than the govt website which talks about spelling words used in the teaching profession -but what???

I think I'll be fine with the maths but the literacy does worry me -at work I use maths all the time but in the age of predictive text message and spell checking, the literacy worries me

There are some practice tests online and some good books for example www.amazon.co.uk/Passing-Literacy-Skills-Achieving-Series/dp/0857258796/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1391361647&sr=8-2&keywords=qts+skills+test

Practice papers and practice online tests available here

For numeracy skills test revision, I found this video really quite helpful;

Try not to worry too much about them. I did mine in the summer, and despite stressing for weeks (mainly over the speed of the mental maths), I was absolutely fine.

You'll be fine. I did mine in December and it was not as bad as I thought it would be. Just keep practising your spelling on the online tests and it'll be grand.

Ds did them recently and was really worried about the maths. Did a good bit of practice and passed first time. Be aware that there has bèen a bit of a waiting time for test at many centres since learn direct took over but hopefully thats eased as most people have probably completed their aoplication. Good luck.

They are not hard at all, work through the online practice material to identify any problems you might have and get them done, you'll feel relieved to be free of them and the idea is much worse than the reality!

Panzee · 01/04/2015 11:52

They are easy, as long as you do some practice ones so you know what te questions are like. Good luck :)
