The royal family

Well, either poor Eugenie is falling on hard times or she gave it away. I'm going to say that's an optimistic price point, even for those with a fondness for the Sussexes and the Yorks.

valeriy2 · Yesterday 08:56

I'm calling bs on this - the provenance is that they say so - and the price is a joke,. It's an anti H&M psyop and a not very funny one at that. And probably fraud tbh passing off something with a huge price that it is not. The price is probably calculated to make sure it isn't bought and draw attention to the piece. Quite nasty tbh.

Although it does look like Meghan's handwriting, which is very distinctive.

If it's fraud, eBay should remove, surely?

If you are going to charge £20k for a signed book then there should absolutely be proof of provenance. This has none and is I think designed to garner publicity and throw shade on the relationship for I think malicious intent.

Yes, I thought it was absurd. Maybe it's been reported.

The seller has 100% positive reviews and over 2k items sold. Maybe Eugenie passed it on to a friend?

Maybe doing a lot of heavy lifting there - disinformation on social media is the scourge of our age.

Yes, anybody with a pen could have signed it otherwise. It's like the old joke "I did a book signing session at my local Waterstones last week - I managed to sign 154 books before the manager caught me and threw me out, threatening to press charges" Grin

I don’t see what’s wrong here TBH,
a non working Royal gifted a non senior non working Royal a gift and now it’s being sold by an anonymous seller.
This has nothing to do with Meghan or Eugenie.

The Late Queen sold horses that were gifts. Can’t say it made huge headlines.

Nothing to do with Meghan or Eugenie? One is the writer, the other the recipient?

Right. How do you know? That's not a criticism, they're both free to sell what they like.

That’s a bit unfair, I know it didn’t exactly trouble the bestseller lists and book awards, but Meghan must have sold at least a couple of copies. Otherwise how would the plagiarism allegations have surfaced?

Yes, I'm sure it sold some. Although there is a picture of her sitting at a table with piles of unsold books.

To be fair, it's a bit more difficult to tactfully tuck an unwanted horse out of sight in the bottom corner of your bookcase.

Come on , let’s be rational here .
First the book is Eugenie’s
she must be mortified right now with everyone thinking she’s £20k short and has resorted to flogging personal items on eBay.

Maybe she needs the dosh?

The seller ended the listing maybe she realised she had bit off more than she could chew or was being used.

Its says the seller has ended the listing not that it had sold. It was attracting a huge amount of attention.
