I don’t think so. Cancelling now would imply that the U.S. couldn’t provide adequate security for the visit. And the King will travel with his own security personnel.

If I were the King I would be looking for any excuse possible to get out of it.

No one has issues with KC3. US security will be on high alert.

Obviously the US can keep him safe, but if the King didn’t really want to go/ if Downing Street no longer feel it’s necessary, this is a perfectly acceptable excuse to cancel (or rather, postpone and fail to reschedule) that won’t cause embarrassment to either side.

If the U.K. Government want him to go , he will go . It’s his job !

I think that the only reason whereby he’d withdraw would be ill health.

And whilst I don’t admire the man, I don’t think he’d use that as an excuse.

So if the gov still wants him to travel, he’ll do it I reckon.

Someone fired a gun at Charles, years ago, and he just looked bemused and fiddled with his cuff. I can't see him cancelling out of fear and it's up to the government to make that decision anyway.
