It is but in reality it doesn't mean anything. My neighbours son was bestowed with this honor, she said all it means is he is allowed to take his sheep along the road or something bizarre!! It's a very old honor thing to do with trading in London.

One of my neighbours got this for doing loads of charity work. Seems like it’s not such a great accolade if you can just get it for being a relative of someone.

I struggle to see the point of any honours. Do they bestow anything at all except the badge? Do the Companions of Honour meet together to do things? Is it just having your name on a list that is revered by custom and nothing else? Why do people want them?

Receiving it in 2012 seems a bit random unless it's an under the radar jubilee bauble sailing under Phil's false colours.
