Royals scurry away to Scotland when Harry arrives in London

This is hilarious, Harry comes to London for a few days for a court case and suddenly the king, Camilla, William & Kate all need to go to Scotland for a week or two (probably in helicopters).

In my experience, the family members that run and hide are the ones who don't want any attention on their actions. Hope Harry wins his case.

I don’t think they are ‘scurrying away’. It seems they are attending appointments that have been arranged for a while. I’m not sure the daily mirror is the most reliable news source. I hope Harry doesn’t win. He’s an embarrassment.

bluegreygreen · 19/01/2026 23:29

Most royal engagements are arranged months in advance, for logistic as well as security reasons.

Mylovelygreendress · 19/01/2026 23:37

The Scottish visit has been arranged for months. No scurrying .

HeddaGarbled · 19/01/2026 23:44

You missed the T after Hapless.

Rhaidimiddim · 19/01/2026 23:46

Either it is a coincidence that they all have stuff to be doing in Scotland, just as H is in London.

Or it is a move to indicate that they want nothing to do with him and his PR circus at this point.

Given all the dying-for-a-reconciliation stuff that's bubbling atm, my money is on the latter. The RF equivalent of hiding behind the sofa until they've gone.

And who can blame them?

JustAnotherWhinger · 19/01/2026 23:48

On the day Harry is expected to give his evidence William will be in Bristol, so hardly running off to Scotland for weeks to hide.

The visit to the ice rink has been planned for months. No idea about the rest, but that one is long planned.

Why would you hope he doesn't win? A friend of mine was a journalist on the nationals his whole career. When the NOTW hacking case kicked off, he said that The Mail was well known to be one of the worst hacking offenders. I've no idea how they've escaped punishment for illegally breaching people's privacy for so long. And they may yet get off with it.

Oh, right, so W hasn't scurried off to Scotland. And presumably the Wales kids are still at school so they and C will be in Windsor. (Possibly hiding behind the sofa.)

So the OP is making it up...

I mean … ya write a book, give a TV interview etc dissing your family. They are not going to welcome you with open arms. Even good old fashioned grovelling might not do the trick… and looks like he isn’t doing that anyway. I love my family… but if they did that to me… not sure I would want to play happy families again. He made his choice abd has to suck it up: it is tough as he seems a nice bloke and bet he misses a lot of aspects of his old life. Being an immigrant is never easy even if financially comfortable.

The OP said they had scurried off to Scotland for a week or two ...

W & C have engagements in Falkirk and Stirling, then W is in Bristol by Thursday.

So no "scurrying off for weeks"...

He might be an embarrassment to some, but if he and all the others in the case are correct in their belief that they were hacked repeatedly then I hope they win.

This isn't just about Harry. The likes of Doreen Lawrence deserve the truth about what happened and a proper apology and recompense for it.

To be fair OP is repeating what a news article has wrote...so if the reporter got it wrong its canf be OPs fault

Not concerned about Harry either way

but hope the press don’t win this case

Delphiniumandlupins · 20/01/2026 00:08

Most posters on MN don't like answering their front door so not sure why RF should be any different. Was Harry planning to call round anyway?

Very well said !!

Justdancevance · 20/01/2026 00:19

The only problem js the plaintiffs have run up millions in cosfs, but their evidence is very thin and their witness are very unreliable (being polite).

It will be interesting to see what unfolds

NicolaSturgeon · 20/01/2026 01:02

Hey, Haters! There are plenty of reasons to come to Scotland besides Harry. Have you really never had a sudden urge to have a closer look at the Falkirk Wheel?

It's fantastic! I'd love to scurry off to Scotland today. Unfortunately, I can't.
Footnote: are we allowed to move any other way apart from "scurrying"?.

Why would DM have hacked Doreen Lawrence? They were very much on her side when they named her son's killers and invited them to sue.

threesocksmorgan · 20/01/2026 09:30

another thread where the op is reaching for any reason to start a thread to bash Harry.

Disagree, imo the ones who run and hide are the abused ones.

Miranda65 · 20/01/2026 09:34

The King always spends most of January in Scotland (just as QEII always stayed at Sandringham after Xmas). His engagements will have been in the diary for months (as will those of other RF members).
The OP is frankly hilarious and naive.

OnlyMabelInTheBuilding · 20/01/2026 09:34

I don’t think they give him a second thought, to be honest.

It's just news to them. Exactly the same reasons Millie Dowler's phone was hacked.

It's probably best not to take a random tabloid story as the absolute truth.
