Will it be “Andrew Windsor, the former Duke of York..”? It’s a bit of a mouthful

He was mentioned on the news this morning and referred to as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. With no reference to his former titles

Oldraver · 01/11/2025 18:31

Hopefully nothing

Goalpace · 01/11/2025 18:32

Sadly for him ‘The Artist formerly known as Prince’ is already taken.

Gloriousgardener11 · 01/11/2025 18:33

I’ve heard him referred to as Mr Mountbatten Windsor so I should think this is how he’ll be referred to going forward but to be honest I’m fed up with hearing about him.

Arlanymor · 01/11/2025 18:34

Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. The media announced the change and have been using it ever since. I can think of other names for him however…

PhilosophicalCheeseSandwich · 01/11/2025 18:35

I think he's still allowed to use the Randy Andy title.

Buzyizzy217 · 01/11/2025 18:36

I’d be banned if I said what the media should be calling him!

EmpressSisi · 01/11/2025 18:37

Everywhere I’ve seen, he’s simply called Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. I’m thinking of starting to refer to him as AMW for ease.

Eyesopenwideawake · 01/11/2025 18:38

I think it'll get shortened to Andrew Windsor, Mountbatten-Windsor being a bit of a mouthful (of 🤮).

trinibrit · 01/11/2025 18:38

The Andrew formerly known as Prince

Goosyloosy · 01/11/2025 18:39

The prick

AnareticDegree · 01/11/2025 18:40

Probably Andrew Windsor, the former associate of Jeffrey Epstein.

Who actually cares?

HappyToSmile · 01/11/2025 18:58

I think it will be "King Charles' brother, Andrew Mountabatton Windsor" on the news.

AnareticDegree · 01/11/2025 19:00

Goosyloosy · 01/11/2025 18:39

The prick

That's good, but could be confused with both his brothers. Needs a descriptor.

‘The Andrew formerly known as Prince’?

LadyRoughDiamond · 01/11/2025 19:02

… or perhaps, eventually, The Defendant?

It's A Royal Knockout, followed by chuff all of note.

Dartmoorcheffy · 01/11/2025 19:19

Well the media still call princess Catherine, kate Middleton. So they will.probably continue calling him princess Andrew.

Eastie77Returns · 02/11/2025 14:32

Well there is a Guardian article today confirming the the loss of another title (Naval one apparently, who knew he had so many) referring to him as “the former DoY” at the beginning and then it’s Mountbatten Windsor thereafter. It is actually quite weird seeing it written down like that, you almost have to pause and remind yourself who it is they’re writing about!

OP posts:
MrsSkylerWhite · 02/11/2025 14:34

I know exactly what I’d call him but I don’t suppose they’d print it.

SeaAndStars · 02/11/2025 15:02
