I couldn’t see one that had already been started, so thought that I would start a thread for those of us reading Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous memoir ‘Nobody’s Girl’. I’m sure that there will be a lot to discuss.

I had the book on preorder so it was delivered to my Kindle at midnight. I started reading it this morning and already I can tell that it’s going to be a tough, but important, read.

I am a survivor of abuse and as such admire even more the lengths that Giuffre went to to expose her abusers. I know that I couldn’t have done what she has. I’m just sorry that the trauma in the end was too much for her to bear.

Please remember all readers- especially those coming to it with a history of abuse- be kind to yourself, take a break from reading if it gets too much and talk to someone if you need to.

If you’ve not got somebody who you feel comfortable talking to in real life, the following services are available:

The Samaritans: Free Phone 116 123 or visit their website here: https://www.samaritans.org/

The Survivors Trust: Free Phone tel:08088 010 818 08088 010 818 or visit their website here: https://thesurvivorstrust.org/

I look forward to reading this book with you all.

Apparently the plane was fitted with individual bedrooms, so the other people on it would have known about the sex but just conceivably not the violence.

The pilots would absolutely have known what was going on, and probably been offered some level of "participation" themselves, for example once they got to the island. I have come across a similar scenario in a different place and that is what happened there.

That's grim but makes sense about the pilots☹️.

Even if there were individual bedrooms on the plane, I cannot imagine they're so insulated you wouldn't hear anything. But I always travel economy so admittedly have no idea about what luxury jet quarters are like!

Absolutely terrible.

Other names are out there. Go on social media. They're a pretty intimidating bunch.

I did just that and there is one very prominent name being discussed. They can't keep this secret, surely?

Hoolahoophop · 23/10/2025 09:17

Why are the names being protected even on here? Hints, go look but no names.

Only Andrew, and Maxwell are all over the media. The English woman and the English prince. When people talk about corruption in the UK they are not wrong, Andrew must have been protected to a point. But not to the extent of all the other men and possibly women involved.

I won't read the book I suspect it would be too harrowing. I wish the whole tower would collapse and ALL the guilty parties would face justice. But sadly I don't believe they will.

My understanding is that it’s potentially libellous and MN would then pull the thread. I would like to know who the names are so if anyone wants to give initials and clues then think that would be fine. However there is also the chance of false accusations and misinformation - think that happened in the Baby Reindeer situation - where it was assumed by the public that it was a particular director when it wasn’t.

I would be up for letting Maxwell out if she gave a list but the way it’s going with Trump is that she is being released (slowly) for keeping silent.

I hope the others are really really rattled. They treated those young girls as less than human. As chattels. Young girls who could be our daughters. They need to be in prison. Especially that rapist prime minister who the absolute fuck is that?

Iwanttoliveinagardencentre · 23/10/2025 09:49

It is ironic that one of the main conspiracy theories the maga voters believe is about rich and powerful pedophiles throughout america controlling the country.

Here is this brave woman speaking out as are other victims but the focus is still only on british offenders and they actually elected a president who is up to his neck in the whole disgusting business.

They were all, each and every one of them, rapists because that is is the legal consequence/definition of having sex with a trafficked person because they are unable to consent due to the grooming, threats, assaults that they continue to experience.

The ex-priminister of I&@£@L was ‘just’ a more violent rapist.

LambriniBobInIsleworthISeesYa · 23/10/2025 21:50

My understanding is that the pilots who were identified and gave testimony in court said that they had no idea of any of the sexual activity happening on the plane. Sounds laughable to me.

I’ve read about a quarter of the book so far and it’s a tough read, but an important one. I’d also like to know the names of the other prominent men being discussed as possibilities, so am off to trawl social media.

Let's say you wanted a clue as to who the PM is. You could look for a Prime Minister who frequently visited Epstein, and was photographed visiting his house...

TheaBrandt1 · 24/10/2025 21:17

Easy to find who tbe prime minister isn’t it. He needs to be arrested. Disgusting man. That’s his legacy fucked. Good.

cheaptableNC · 25/10/2025 21:10

Surprised not to see the book for sale anywhere in my town today. Supermarkets, Smiths, independent bookshop - nowhere.

BeeWitchy · 26/10/2025 01:03

It’s a shame no new names are named and shamed.

As I understand it, Virginia did name names to the investigating authorities.

I have read that she received death threats for speaking out and writing the book. Also the lives of her family members and her children’s lives were threatened. She had good reasons for not naming names

It’s one reason why some victims have said they won’t name names publicly. There is still no one to protect them. Other victims are just trying to get on with their lives below the radar and trying to put what was done to them behind them. Both very understandable responses imo.

LBFseBrom · 27/10/2025 09:23

I'm on chapter eighteen, Virginia has just married and is on honeymoon.

PA has been mentioned a couple of chapters back, the alleged meeting in London with famous photo, which we know about, but described differently, for which Epstein paid her $15,000; another on the island. He doesn't feature very much in the book, plenty of others are but not by name.

I found her early life, the abuse she underwent and the place she was sent to sort her out, quite harrowing.

One account of her being violently sexually attacked by a client, an ex government minister unnamed, was simply dreadful.

I don't quite get her relationship with her boyfriend (Tony), with whom she lived while she was working for Epstein, and the other boyfriend who featured prior to him (Michael).

I will plough on through the book. It is very obviously ghost written.

If anyone has young teenage girl children, don't let them read it if it can be avoided. I can imagine they would want to, I would have as a youngster.

Thanks for the link to the ABC article, Baital.

if anyone wants to see two disturbing drawings that were in the infamous ‘birthday book’ click on the link ‘birthday book’ in the ABC article supplied by Baital above.

Whoever drew those, would have to have known in my opinion.

Edited to add the link takes you here:

I get so angry with the women who enabled the men but then I question myself for holding women to a higher standard.
This book is such a sad reflection of the world.

This book is such a sad reflection of the world.

The women who do that have usually been groomed themselves, they just don't realise it but if a perpetrator has a 'girlfriend', she is almost certainly controlled by him. I am not excusing women like that but very often that is how it happens.

Ghislane Maxwell and Geoffrey Epstein, with whom she was besotted, broke up over twenty years ago. I wonder what happened there, when she saw the light. She certainly did her best to distance herself from him when it was over. That was a bizarre relationship, I doubt we will ever understand it.

TheaBrandt1 · 27/10/2025 11:33

As a wise friend commented what’s so sad is the first thing these powerful men want to do with their power is to find attractive young girls and to hurt them. I really really cannot see this happening if the sexes were reversed can you?

LBFseBrom · 27/10/2025 14:42

I'm sure there are powerful, rich men who don't want to hurt anyone, never mind young girls. There are plenty of poor and inadequate men who enjoy hurting. We shouldn't generalise.

No we shouldn’t generalise. Not all men. But too many men.

TheaBrandt1 · 28/10/2025 07:08

Can you imagine a group of rich and powerful women getting together and setting up an island retreat where they could hurt and degrade teenage boys who are a similar age to their sons? Because I can’t.

LBFseBrom · 28/10/2025 13:30

No I certainly can't.

I finished the book. Much of it we already knew, a few details changed. Many names not given, she said that was to protect herself as they were very powerful men.

There was no hint of unhappiness in the Giuffre's marriage, quite the opposite.

What I didn't know was that she had accepted a large settlement from Epstein years before. I also didn't know she had tried to commit suicide, ane ended up in hospital (almost died), two or three times prior to actually dying. That was at the end of the book and played on my mind during the night, it was so tragic.

I will be interested to know what others thought but I am not going to revisit the book for a while, I need to leave it behind right now.

ozarina · 28/10/2025 17:09

Does she have any other women to back up her names? I'm thinking along the lines of the metoo movement.
