I liked the letter and thought that the reception that KC3 held in honor of cancer charities was very well done.

The support systems are very crucial for people dealing with a life changing diagnosis and these charities are immensely helpful.

@jeffgoldblum you inspired me to start the thread about Prince Edward. In the spirit of the new month, I wanted to focus more on the charities and other good things. But like you, I was scared no-one would comment so I did not put it up yesterday. Then your post came along this morning, and I realised...I needed to be the change I wanted.

Really touching message.

Lovely that Dame Deborah James was mentioned, she did amazing things all throughout her illness.

MrsLeonFarrell · 01/05/2025 19:54

The Reception seems to have included a wide variety of cancer charities. The publicity can only be helpful.

This is a good letter and a very KC response. He is obviously very much his mother's son and I like that about him. It feels quite formal but very heartfelt.

He and Catherine have different styles which I think is great. Cancer is a bastard and however you face it should be applauded.

Thank you for posting the statement @jeffgoldblum . I have been so admiring of Charles from the outset of his diagnosis. Always humorous, always compassionate and caring of others, no self pity on display. Of course there shouldn't be any prescribed way of dealing with a serious illness like cancer, and everyone has very different circumstances that will impact how they handle it; but Charles seems to want to spend every minute of his cancer journey in service as HOS and in pursuit of setting an example of decency towards others, and I do think he's gained a lot of new fans because of the way he's conducted himself.

What a lovely message, I feel it truly came from his heart.
