Ok this is not the best news source but it caught my attention.

I can't help but like Zara & Mike, even though they're privileged as all-hell. They seem pretty grounded overall.

He's a bit young for a memoir though? Also not convinced he will have written it all by himself. I'll read it though, if it's available at the library and I don't have to spend money on it 😆

I know it’s not going to attract the curiosity and readership of Spare. However, this could prove an interesting read.

ThomasPatrickKeatingsDegas · 16/10/2024 05:30

Wonder if he will include his dalliance/s in NZ 🤔

Dustyblue · 16/10/2024 05:35

I'm in Australia & his NZ antics made big news at the time!

It was written off as "she was an old friend, it was nothing" blah blah. However, from memory the person who took the pics was prosecuted by the NZ police. The message was "Do Not Mess with the Royal Family" 😂

I suspect it will be more interesting to rugby fans of a certain era than to anyone looking for gossip about the royals. If the only titbit so far is “they were nice to me”, I doubt there will be much else 🤷‍♀️

WinnieTheW0rm · 16/10/2024 16:47

It's not his memoir (though as he retired from rugby long ago, then he is in memoir territory).

This book is called "The Good, the Bad and the Rugby - Unleashed"

He is one of 3 authors, it's based on the rugby podcasts.

I expect the RF will only be mentioned as much as they are mentioned in the podcasts (ie v rarely)

I was also wondering if he'd include the dwarf tossing in NZ...

MrsLeonFarrell · 16/10/2024 20:09

I don't know much about him but I'd be surprised if he includes more than boring snippets about the royals. He doesn't seem to say much publically.

Ahh, I see. That makes sense, taa for the info.

No interest in rugby (league or union) so won't bother with this book.

Mike seems nice enough, but also positioning himself as a 'public speaker' and I believe he holds the odd 'shooting party' on the grounds of Gatcombe Park. AKA his MIL's place. At a high fee.

Zara had a collaboration with an Australian Jeweller named Calleija. He's well known here in Aust & not for the best of reasons. Because, you know... equestrianism & jewellery have much to do with each other.

They're good at making money I'll give them that!

Was Zara's collection inspired by Bella's wedding ring in Breaking Dawn?

Dustyblue · 19/10/2024 03:45

Ha! Maybe?

Zara did an interview here in Oz at the time, and said something like "I wanted to design something that could go from day to night". Whatever that means. The interviewer asked if you could wear these whilst riding? She faltered for a brief second and said "Sure! You could fit them under gloves!"

Anything for cash! However she does seem like good fun. Zara & Mike come every year for the "Magic Millions" equestrian event. Last year she attended a lunch where people complained there was no booze. Zara apparently asked the staff if they could provide a few bottles of fizz & she'd pay 😁The answer was no, it was a booze-free event but she tried.

Yeah Zara and Mike seem to be making the best of their lives. I don't see how you can be in her position and avoid leveraging it a bit. Even if you wanted to avoid using your advantage you can't help who you are related to and people are going to respond to that by offering stuff.

Looks like knuckle dusters were an important influence.

As for her ghastly husband I wonder if he'll have any comment to make on getting away with groping TV crew during his stint down under?

Mike Tindall jokingly tackles I'm a Celeb staff before heading to jungle

MIKE Tindall shocked an I’m A Celebrity crew member by jokingly tackling her yesterday — just hours before heading in to the jungle. The former England rugby ace, 44, threw his arms around the mask…

I hadn't heard that about him before. Disappointing.

CathyorClaire · 19/10/2024 20:33

I think both Tindalls and the York daughters have had the most astounding luck in flying more or less under the radar for years.

Interesting to see whether the spotlight will turn now they're being wheeled out (and a quarter of them apparently wheeling themselves out) to plug gaps.

That’s sleazy! The poor woman, being groped like that.

Mummyoflittledragon · 21/10/2024 06:17

OMG! Men have no idea, do they? He totally ambushed that woman from behind. She was distracted, on her phone and didn’t have a clue what he was about to do. It is one thing to pretend and for her to be in on the joke, which would be playful but he’d have to know her well, which isn’t the case. Quite another to grab from behind.

Edit - to add, the mask gives it even more of a sinister twist. In circumstances such as these it could act as a gag, muffling her voice and leaving people around her unaware as to how she is feeling about the whole incident.

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 21/10/2024 06:21

Men really are grim. That’s gross.

Thedom · 24/10/2024 09:12

Mikes book has been released, a few little innocuous tidbits about his inlaws, love the idea of the huge summer family gatherings in Scotland, must be an incredible time for all the cousins, young and old.
