The Daily Mail should be made to apologise for their daily hounding of Kate and William. Most people had the sense to realise that something was seriously wrong and yet every single day they pedalled conspiracy theories.

It’s a very sad evening after this news, and I hope that she and her family can be left alone for a while. Royalist or not - no one deserves to be hounded in this situation.

I’m sure everyone at Mumsnet would love to send her their well wishes as a mother in this situation.

Hugs to you Kate and all your family. X

In the back of my mind I just knew is was a serious health issue related to the abdominal surgery.

When I saw the video, she looked a lot thinner than usual and I said this was to be expected post-major abdominal surgery.

What hurts even more that she is very young and has three young children. Thankfully she has a loving husband and her family.

Kate will get the best treatment there is available and rightly so.

Lets hope when Kate has fully recovered she could share what cancer it was. This is because when famous people talk about a particular cancer, many millions pay extra attention to that type of cancer and check symptoms and this will indeed save many lives as when this nasty medical condition is caught early, the outcomes are usually very good.

I heard this on the car radio as we were driving back home. I feel it is more shocking to hear as Kate is young. I'm very hopeful Kate will be back out and about soon having seen her in the video on Sunday.

I'm hoping that this awful news turns in to good news for Kate and cancer research as more people will be inclined to donate to the research. As importantly, more people will look out for symptoms once/if we are advised when HRH Kate has made a full recovery.

Wishing Kate/William/kids well and happier times ahead very soon.

You’re one of the main vultures so please, instead of telling everyone else how to behave, take a look at yourself first.

Lots of best wishes to Catherine the Princess of Wales and her family. Also to Prince William who had had to endure considerable stress over the last few months. Catherine in Summer you will have a great time with your family and this will be behind you. Also wishes to King Charles for having to fight his own cancer battle and see his son have to go through this. Finally I saw Camilla on you tube out there valiantly keeping things going by carrying on the royal visits - so good on her and thank you.

Unfortunately they are shameless and lack any social filter.

they're now the people posting about how tragic it is and how upset they are, making it all about them.

you just couldn't make it up.

Because of course no other media outlet has said anything about either of them! Obviously the MN's loathing of the DM, but not of the left's Grauniad, plays a part in idiotic posts such as these.

You’re quite right - many media outlets have been exactly the same. X
