Genuine question, in RL does anyone give a f**k?

Hioneslty, I've enjoyed these many many many threads as much as the next bored person.
But in RL, or in my RL, this just isn't a thing.
Outside of the printed media it's just not a story anymore.
How do I know this? I know this because I spent too much time on MN and began asking friends & family what they thought about it all.
To be met with blank faces.
Honestly we all need to get back to the real world.
FWIW my theory is that she was never real in the first place and her batteries have now given up the ghost, fully expect her be flickering and fading in and out on her way to church.

Yep. I genuinely haven't heard a single person even mention it in real life. Not at work, not at home, not amongst family or friends. I'm slightly curious to know what's going on, but only because I'm a republican, so anything that destabilises the RF, makes them less popular, and maybe slightly hastens us towards not having one any more, is a good thing. Having said that, I don't wish any actual harm to any of them individually.

I agree no one outside of online forums, news and gossip sites gives even a tiny fuck about it.

It didn't even come up in the staffroom as idle chat and we discuss fucking anything and everything in there.

DH and I have had a couple of conversations about it but only because it's been on the news and we do tend to discuss what we're watching. We're both in the 'oh for gods sake leave them alone' camp.

Agree, nobody that I know in RL gives a shit. The RF are irrelevant to the daily lives of most people. I guess people just like to engage in a bit of online speculation when they have nothing else to do.

Hmm. I have to say that it has been mentioned by my friends IRL and was a topic of conversation when we met up for a coffee last week. I agree with you that some people on here seem absolutely obsessed with it though!

The royal threads are populated by the same people time and again and there aren't as many of them as it might appear.

However, online people also exist irl. They're just not the majority. Most people don't care. Some people find it fascinating.

I don’t give a fuck about William, Kate, Rose Hanbury etc etc but it’s interesting just how badly Kensington Palace are fucking this all up. Why are they not better at this?

I'm known to be a little obsessed with weirdc and obscure protocol rules. Not one person I know had mentioned it to me and when I did with friends at coffee today the eye rolls at the conspiracies were mega.

None of them had heard anything except the initial statement from KP. I think it is easy to over estimate how many people engage with social media. The Mail have been writing nasty articles pressuring Catherine, mentioning conspiracies etc and today they had an article about how they had received an enormous post bag supporting her and wishing her well. It's like they can't match the two facts up.

This is why, to rant off topic for a moment, it always annoys me when the government does a knee jerk reaction to something on Twitter. They need to consider how few people are actually on Twitter and ignore 99% of what's said there

In real life the only comments I have heard is that the press should leave them alone. Who wants their medical information on the front page? Even the king who was a bit more open hasn't disclosed details on exactly what he has.

It has come up in memes other funny photos being presented as the easter photo. I don't think anyone cares much just comments of the RF being liars and no surprise there. One of my co-workers has always said they are terrible people so unlikely to care much.
