Any of the kings grandchildren come before the king 😂 he has some work to do

MrsMaxDeWinter · 28/04/2023 15:54

"Any of the King's grandchildren" are more popular than him. Yikes.

Does that mean that even Archie and Lili, unseen and overseas in California, are more popular than the King? A week or so before his Coronation??

And after all that work bigging up Camilla, she is only as popular as Meghan who is no longer a Working Royal.

Funny that they had to explain who she is ("King Charles' wife, formerly Camilla Parker-Bowles")

Goodness.

Samcro · 28/04/2023 15:57

surprised as I always though Anne was the fave. suppose it depends who you ask.

I think they are talking about all children combined.

This seems relevant here.
A survey by the National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) shows public support for the monarchy has fallen to a historic low. A total of 45% of respondents said either it should be abolished, was not at all important or not very important.

British public support for monarchy at historic low, poll reveals

On eve of king’s coronation, survey shows only three in 10 Britons think monarchy is ‘very important’

CoolShoeshine · 28/04/2023 16:31

Sophie isn’t even on the list, surely she’s more popular than Andrew?

Sudeko · 28/04/2023 16:53

They really missed a trick in giving Charlie boy his big, important dressing up party. They should have skipped one generation.

tigger2022 · 28/04/2023 21:26

“All of the King’s grandchildren combined” we all know it’s Louis pulling all of the weight here

King Louis. yes 😂

MamoruHisaishi · 29/04/2023 03:03

Why am I not surprised? I don't really care about the monarchy but I do like William and Kate and their family. They remind me of the Obamas in that they don't dwell on negativity and instead focus on positive things. I think having William be crowned king and kate as queen would be more interesting, for shallow reasons cos they're younger and better looking than Charles and Camilla. Don't really care to see camilla or Charles wearing a crown. At least with queen Elizabeth she was young and attractive when she became queen.

That would never happen. "Abdication" is the ultimate dirty word to the Windsors. Thank you EdwardVIII.

tigger2022 · 29/04/2023 11:56

There are rumours Charles intends to do ~10 years and then abdicate rather than keep going into his 90s like his mother did. I don’t know how true they are but it wouldn’t surprise me, watching his mother struggle and work until her last day must have been tough, and even the DofE eventually retired.

tigger2022 · 29/04/2023 11:57

Sorry @BadgerB that was supposed to be a reply to you! 😅

ItsOnlyWordsInnit · 29/04/2023 12:23

But what was the actual question being asked? It clearly wasn’t who‘s your favourite royal?‘ since the numbers add up to far more than 100. Were multiple answers possible? Genuine question, since maths/statistics isn’t my strong point.

tigger2022 · 29/04/2023 13:31

@ItsOnlyWordsInnit it’s the % of people that like them or are satisfied with them

vera99 · 29/04/2023 15:51

So am I reading this right the most popular royal is Kate on a measly 38% with the rest trailing behind. The assumption is 62% don't give a fig. If that's the case then they are well and truly doomed.

Waggytail · 29/04/2023 15:54

Who the feck voted Andrew? 🤔

Paedos and sexual deviants for whom he is the commander in chief, Royal Nonces Battalion.

Oooo - if he follows through with that I might live long enough to see my 3rd coronation.

(on the other hand I might be too ga-ga to care by then)

HolodayPictures · 29/04/2023 20:54

This does not surprise me.

The Princess of Wales is the most inoffensive of them all (unless you are DoS) and Anne is a consistent hard worker though up herself like the DoE - who suffered that fool Andrew- gladly. I haven't heard Catherine give woke lectures about the environment, she dropped the one error - the offensive pregnant people nonsense - quite quickly.

The tampon adulterous duo just haven't the respect QE2 had.

Sudeko · 30/04/2023 09:52

Maybe they do brief against the others but I would think a lot less than the other two factions. They dispense with a lot of the bullshit - over-involved PR agents, obsessive desperation for personal gain and popularity. While their lives will never be normal, they are obviously striving to provide as normal an experience as they can for their kids.
