Royal Variety - Edward not singing National Anthem

I just wondered if this was a protocol thing, ie the King is his brother so he doesn’t have to? Sophie was singing. Just curious really….

I'm sure the major royals normally sing it. Maybe it's painful for him after signing it for his mother for so long, to now not be able to.

They do normally sing it - perhaps he was hoarse that day or found it too emotional as pp suggested.

You know they’re all practicing frantically so they don’t do the “God save the Qu-KING!” thing in public. He maybe needs a few more goes.
