to admire Harry and Meghan so much

That it all. I absolutely love this couple: so brave and so inspiring in the face of Bullies!
They symbolise everything.that could have been right for the royal family.
How horrible is William, to know how his own mother and brother have been treated by the media and yet he just goes along with it and does as he is told. I feel so sorry for his children, especially George. Poor George doesn't stand a chance with a father as stiff as William😞

They do charity work
How do any of us help humanity?

Why should they help humanity any more or less than anyone else.

But they do?

Because they have many many millions and no real need to work or earn more. So yes they should give more time and more money to charity then normal people.

PollyPeptide · 26/04/2023 23:55

I'm so sorry to hear that you've had such a hard time, @Sarahtm35 . That's very sad.
I hope your life is better now. x

To be a royal is to be greedy, opportunistic and rotten to the core. To marry into royalty (pretty much any royalty) is to aspire to that and voluntarily participate. They are all rotters which is why they think nothing of selling each other out on a daily basis, openly or covertly. You are not going to find worthy role models, heroes, heroines, strong morality, charity or compassion. The difference is that some have the spotlight shone on them more than others.

H and M were so right when they said that the people who troll them with the same negative stories are actually mostly from the same few accounts..I think about 80 in total.
It makes sense because I couldnt understand how online they were constant targets from bullies whereas in real life, the majority of people love them and cannot stand William.
I think the reason for this is because,
The majority of people with intelligence and insight will see how far H and M are going, and see the positive changes they bring.. and therefore dont need to battle their opinions online..the ones that make noise are the W and K followers as, maybe due to lower intelligence(no offense) have the need to follow what tabloids say, unfortunately, people in this branch inky read the cheap tabloid.and think if they are saying this then it has to be true.
I really feel sorry for Prince George in all this and the life he has compared to Archie and lilibet. It looks so sad to see him in suits and formal wear at his age. I can see him being very close to his uncle when older. I don't think he thank his father in later life. Ya

Are you having a laugh? I mean, at first I thought you were being sarcastic. Now I see you are being, well, terribly naive (if I'm allowed to say that...).

Where are you getting your information from, OP?

Birchtrees · 27/04/2023 19:50

I don’t admire them at all. I think they’re an embarrassment.

googlejourney · 28/04/2023 11:23

I admire her a little bit, she's incredibly ambitious and seems to get and achieve everything she wants in life. But unfortunately she seems to have hurt people along the way.

I don't admire him, I think he's boring, bitter and unintelligent. Without his RF connections he doesn't have anything at all to offer.

It's such a pity he hasn't build on all Diana's charity work and good causes, he was born so privileged and could've done so much for others instead of wallowing in unhappiness and resentment.

I think Meghan will soon tire of him and leave him in her wake.

polkadotdalmation · 28/04/2023 11:28

@shockthemonkey These reports of online bullying emanate from Bot Sentinel and have been disproven by twitter who have better access to their own accounts than this very dodgy company and the even dodgier owner Christopher Bouzy. Who by coincidence is a friend of harry and Meghan.

It's easy enough isn't it to find this information

pikkumyy77 · 28/04/2023 11:32

I like them. I thought they brought a lot to the RF and that forcing them out was a short sighted and stupid thing to do. I find the remaining royals dull and uninteresting. I also find the MN anti-fan viciousness and obsessive coverage symptomatic of a kind of creepy moral rot typical of anonymous behavior on the internet. Ordinary, probably quite nice people, really let their freak flag fly with H and M in a way that is just shocking to an outsider. I don’t even spend this kind of emotional energy disliking serial killers or politicians.

polkadotdalmation · 28/04/2023 11:40

@pikkumyy77 However you spend time and emotional energy praising them? Sounds just as obsessive to me.

@pikkumyy77 have you heard of this lady? Your comment reminded me of this story.

*“I think she’d had time to reflect that she’d gotten a little bit carried away. That’s what she said in her final email.” Did she have any sense of the pain that the tweets might cause the McCanns? “It’s difficult to say. I think she lost sight of their humanity, and they were just the target of the ‘investigation’.”
He uses the word investigation deliberately. Ben was later to discover that Brenda didn’t think of herself as a troll, but as a journalist investigating the McCanns. “In her last will and testament, she said her job title was investigative journalist. That was the role she had assumed,” he says. Had she ever done any journalism? “No.”

Two weeks after Brenda took her own life, the then justice secretary Chris Grayling quadrupled the maximum custodial sentence for trolling to two years. Grayling said: “These internet trolls are cowards who are poisoning our national life. No one would permit such venom in person, so there should be no place for it on social media.”
The abuse of the McCanns was an early example of armchair detectives and conspiracy theorists swarming around a news story. It heralded a new era of trolling that has now become all too familiar. There had been a dramatic rise in the number of trolls jailed by the time Brenda died. In 2014, 1,209 people were found guilty of offences under section 127 of the Communications Act 2003, compared with 143 in 2004. Most are believed to be trolls abusing social media platforms.*

However you spend a massive amount of time telling everyone how loathsome they are incessantly on and on.

Works both ways

Roussette · 28/04/2023 15:23

@Whaeanui

That story was something else. The woman just got caught up in the story to the point it was impossible to carry on

I felt so sorry for her son

No one ‘forced them them out’. They left because it wasn’t the deal they thought they were entitled to. Equal billing with William and Kate for one.

Sudeko · 28/04/2023 16:27

Yes, it does seem that way from what was written in their book. Something about no longer feeling offended about Meghan not being invited to Balmoral once they realized that Kate was not coming either. It must infuriate Kate who is a real goody two shoes, a queen in waiting and has been in the family all her adult life 😃

Aha... thanks for shedding light, dalmation. Makes total sense.

Anyway, OP, I think it's unhealthy to fawn over a couple like this. I mean, even if you take everything they say at face value and forget all about their quite regular lying and dissembling, it's still a bit bizarre.

Set your sights higher, if you want to "admire" a couple (as if they were a unit - weird). Try Amal Clooney maybe? I mean she's beautiful and stylish - you'll probably love that - but also terribly terribly clever and has a serious job.

shockthemonkey · 28/04/2023 20:49

She can come as a package with George, if you like, and there you have it!

Blip · 02/05/2023 11:38

I admire that Meghan set out to snare a Prince - and she did it! Many have failed.
Disneytastic.

I admire that Prince Harry is confident enough to appear in public after endlessly telling stories about his own "todger".

I agree with this, in that I do think Meghan is a beautiful, smart, go getter who accomplishes/does her best to accomplish what she sets out to do. I think her drive to succeed is what makes her admirable to me. I think she may have been blinded when it came to marrying a prince, although I don’t think that she was unaware of Harry’s racist past.

I really don’t believe that Harry has anything that a woman like Meghan (or tbh, any woman) could desire besides his background. This is a guy who was not only known for being racist, but also for being unintelligent, and for acting like a typical drunk frat boy. There was nothing cultured or sophisticated about him at all. I wonder sometimes how she can stand being with him as he just comes across as a needy and whiny man child with mummy issues.

custardbear · 02/05/2023 16:33

@MamoruHisaishi you're absolutely right about PH, plus he's embarrassingly entitled, very much a 'do as I say not as I do' person.
MM, yes she's ambitious, but she's used marriage to get anywhere, and let's face it she's not really got much to show for it, before any connection to PH she was just a Netflix actor in a series, her association with him has made her a household name - albeit for all the wrong reasons ... I'm sure she could have used his door opening capabilities to a far better place had she been a bit more savvy and less demanding - people have seen through the mask, and it's not pleasant
