I honestly don't understand the POV that H&M should have just kept quiet and faded into anonymity. There was so much horrible, racist media that was translating into hate and death threats, and no one from the palace was defending them. Why shouldn't they speak up and give their side? Honestly, would you want the world's media saying these things about you and for these things to stand for all time? Wouldn't you want to fight back? When Harry said (I don't remember the exact wording) that he was doing it for his children and that he didn't want for them to look back at this time and ask what he did - I agreed with this. I wouldn't do nothing.

For the record, I do realise that the documentary is biased. But their treatment by the media is there for all to see.

And I don't think they could have faded into anonymity either. It was too far gone by the time they decided to leave. There's been other mention of the other grandchildren of the Queen who have quiet anonymous lives, but they had relatively (by royal standards lives to start with. Harry and William were never going to get that because they are Diana's children. The level of attention and abuse Harry's girlfriends have had by the media is ridiculous.

I'd assume the Royal family get death threats all the time. Fagin actually broke into the Queen's bedroom. That's why they have security, met officers, forensics etc After what happened to Diana no one can say they didn't know what they were getting into.

They couldn't fade into anonymity because Meghan would not want that, she is a social climber - and they have to make money to afford their 7 bedroom, 14 bathroom, 18,000 ft, 14 million dollar house in Montecito. But I'm happy for you to feel sorry for them if you want to.

So if you and your children were getting horrible media and death threats you would just keep quiet?

Just because the rest of royal family get death threats doesn't mean that it's ok to put up with it. And they haven't experienced the racism that Meghan has had to experience either.

No your right she shouldn't have to put up with racism but blaming the UK for it is not the way many headlines were from other countries NOT the UK yet we are blamed time and again its tiresome

The press in this country are appalling they followed kate around for years calling her a slag a whore just to get their shot of her upset prince William EVENTUALLY put his foot down but it took years with meghan he released a statement supporting his brother fast so it seemed they were protecting her right from the beginning unlike all the others

The press feel it's their right and duty to get pictures look at what they do to Charlotte stick their tounges out call out to her then report in their newspaper how bad she is for saying they can't come in to her house and actually acting like a child 😑

I dont blame Harry and meghan for leaving I blame them for monetising his mother's death his subsequent trauma his brothers trauma even his grandparents death that's what I don't like they arnt poor they could have made money without doing this

The DM are terrible though, and it gives a platform to haters, and millions of people actually do read and some believe it all - my parents do. I try not to pay attention but when you see "Princess Pushy" type headlines all over the place then it's difficult not to form an unconscious bias against them.
