To think Kate and Wills are wonderful parents

I’ve just been reading this article and am frankly in awe. How do you bring children up to behave so impeccably and be so confident and beautifully mannered? Asking for a friend I’m sure many of us (myself included) in this situation would be resorting to screen time and snacks after half an hour. Kate and Wills seem like such wonderful, happy, hands on parents and their children are a credit to them.

Because they have staff

GuyMontag · 22/09/2022 00:30

🙄

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 22/09/2022 00:34

Meh, the kids are lovely and I'm sure that Kate and William at lovely parents too, but there was nothing that exceptional about their behaviour. Lots of kids would be more than capable of behaving nicely at that age.

melchim · 22/09/2022 00:37

Snacks and screen time are hardly an option for them at the queen's funeral!

Also, I wonder how an article like this would have gone if Louis had come to the funeral..

MintJulia · 22/09/2022 00:41

A full time nanny, cook, house keeper, and unlimited funds probably help ! 🙄

plinkplinkfizzer · 22/09/2022 00:48

I would imagine wills and Kate have the best trained experts to hand for advice with any problems (except for louis) . They really are very lucky .

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 22/09/2022 00:48

Who gives a fuck, either way?

Nanalisa60 · 22/09/2022 00:48

A full time nanny, cook, house keeper, and unlimited funds probably help !

yep think that helps , but I must say they are very well behaved children, I’m very impressed.

To be honest it's not that hard, we had what we called"restaurant behaviour " when mine was a toddler, you'll go home Unless you sit nicely and you will get a treat when we are hime etc, things like that. He was an angel in public, he's 18 now and a complete pain I. The arse.... I'd rather have had the tantrums in public tbh

Luredbyapomegranate · 22/09/2022 00:52

Hi Carole!

Anon778833 · 22/09/2022 00:53

Another Cambridge brown-nosing thread. Really?!

akabluebell · 22/09/2022 00:53

A Norland nanny probably helps!

Pallisers · 22/09/2022 00:54

George and Charlotte did very very well. And I'm sure William and Catherine do their best for them.

My kids behaved like that at my dad's funeral. They were also jetlagged and just off a plane from a different time zone but they were utter troopers at the wake and funeral. I don't consider myself a wonderful parent - I've made plenty of mistakes. My kids have lovely manners and a sense of the importance of things. Plus they loved their grandad and still miss him 10 plus years on.

pinok · 22/09/2022 00:55

I enjoyed all the tweets about ‘Prince Louis being made to stay at home after he lamped his mum in the mouth at the jubilee’ 😭 Love that little clip of him making faces and being naughty.

They seem like nice, normal children. They have a nanny and staff and private schooling and everything else they want. I think most of us could be great parents in that situation 🤷‍♀️

Anon778833 · 22/09/2022 00:55

I also personally think that all 3 of the Cambridge children will have been brought up being told that they will be working Royals and must tow the line. They don’t have a choice about their life. I don’t think that’s fair on any child. Which is why I have sympathy for Harry leaving.

AuntTwacky · 22/09/2022 01:04

They have a lot of money and a lot of help
Just saying

AuntTwacky · 22/09/2022 01:05

And little Louis wasn't so well behaved last time he was in public!!

CaptainBarbosa · 22/09/2022 01:23

How old are they 9 and 7? Or something. To be honest I'd expect most children of that age to behave at a funeral.

They were chatty to eachother and there was the odd "look between siblings" but yeah just normal children of that age I would say.

They were clearly briefed on their expectations on behaviour and are old enough to take that onboard. Louis is not old enough to understand this yet, and not many 4 year olds are?!

I do think though Will and Kate are good parents, they have clearly learnt from the best experts and parts of their own upbringings so yeah it works. They do seem like a lovely little family.

antelopevalley · 22/09/2022 01:24

How do you know it isn't the nanny that has taught them to behave well?
Nannies work long hours but are invisible to most people, as if they do not exist and have no hand in how well raised the children are.

StandingInTheMoment · 22/09/2022 01:24

At 9 and 7, it’s not uncommon for children to be able to behave well in a situation that requires it. I don’t think parents need praising for doing a decent job parenting their children, it should be the norm. It’s weird that you think they should be praised for what many parents are doing with a lot less resources.

I do question anyone that brings children into that life though. Choosing to have children that you know will have very little control over their lives is something I couldn’t do.

ThisUserNameIsAvailableOk · 22/09/2022 01:28

You're "in awe" that two kids managed to do as they were told Confused

susan12345678 · 22/09/2022 02:15

Yes, I think they seem like very calm and loving parents. Their children seem delightful.

I also think a prep school education helps. The children at my dc's schools were all able to behave sensibly on formal occasions and were accustomed to regularly school chapel services from an early age.

Gingerkittykat · 22/09/2022 02:41

Nope, the Cambridges don't seem like brilliant parents since they wheel their kids out for publicity and to boost the image of the RF whenever it suits.

Erica56 · 22/09/2022 02:52

It’s all a bit fake. We only see what they want the media to see

plainjane40 · 22/09/2022 07:12

Good point about the help and resources.

Someone said they seem like very calm parents which I agree with. It’s impressive!
