As above, I really want to be there. I've never been for big events. I'm prepared to 'camp out' as such. When should I go? We thought the morning of the day before?

I went to the Jubilee and it was insane. Honestly, if you want a hope in hell of seeing anything, go now & camp out...

Better still, blag your way into a building looking down on it...Grin

I don't think I could go before Friday as I'm working. Do you think that's too late? I'm an experienced camper, so it's no biggy. But is that too late?

I’m not planning on camping out, but I’m going on the first train on the Monday. They might have big screens in Hyde / St James park, so if it’s chaos I’ll go there to watch it (we did that for William & Catherine’s wedding). I do think you’d need to be there days before to get a spot outside Westminster, like the wedding. I went for the Jubilee and it was fine, that the was party at the palace on the mall not the other days. But yes it will be busy. I’m going to go and pay respects to the Queen lying in state too. But expecting a long wait - maybe towards the end but still be busy

Friday won’t be too late for a spot somewhere - but it will be busy at the key spots (outside the Abbey)

Usually st James park area is less crushed and you may not see the procession however... you will be right next to it, large screen's....and hear...

Why the mall when the funeral procession is from Westminster hall to the abbey?

The mall procession is Wednesday

I understood The Mall process is also post service from Westminster Abbey to Hyde Park Corner (when coffin transferred to hearse and driven to Windsor)
