Which would make DW the Cambridge’s Omid Scobie. Which is pretty tabloid all round.

I wouldn’t blame William for wanting to get his side across, though?

What do we think?

DW’s palace connections have been examined before, BTW.

I thought you meant PW had writen it, its just some one writing a letter to him.

RickiTarr · 08/04/2021 17:18

I can see that it’s in that format, yes. Grin

I am thinking maybe PW gave it the nod, or one of his people did, either in draft or in theory, before it was published, though.

There have been lots of reports the William and Charles both wanted their say in the Oprah interview but were over ruled.

It's a weird thing to write.

That’s what made me stop and read it all. I can smell something’s behind it. Just wondering if that something is KP.

Could you summarise please, because I don't click on DM links

SpringTimeDream · 08/04/2021 17:28

Well I feel sorry for PW .... maybe he feels some of the things covered in the newspaper piece. Who knows. He is the grown up brother whereas PH comes across as a toddler having a tantrum

RickiTarr · 08/04/2021 17:35

It doesn’t really lend itself to summary @HmmmmmmInteresting it’s quite a long epistolary piece addressed to Prince William, summarising William’s relationship with Harry since 1997, addressing your the events of the past four years, referencing some behind-the-scenes occurrences and predicting possible outcomes.

It is an unusual piece, even for the Mail. Dan Wooton has recently moved to the DM from The Sun and is also a talk radio presenter. He has apparently had good palace sources for several years, causing other publications to rely on and reproduce some of his exclusives for a while now. I can’t say DW is to my taste, but he clearly knows people. Good sources.

Yes, I do have sympathy for him. So does Dan W, clearly.

Who is KP?

RickiTarr · 08/04/2021 17:38

Kensington Palace. (The Cambridges/their courtiers.)

Katie Price is all I can think of. Is this why one of her children is called Princess? Shock

That's so much less interesting than my Katie Price theory. :(

Is he still shagging his wife's mate?

TheFairyCaravan · 08/04/2021 17:45

Dan Wootton is an utter shit stirring cunt

The article is a bit buttock clenchy.

I never got clarity on whether that “affair” with RH was made up or not, so can’t help you with that bit.

I think it's a good piece too.

I'm no DM fan and avoid it usually at all costs but they've actually been quite in DM at times this pandemic with regards BJ so I now grace them with my clicks for good decent and fair journalism. (Prob about 0.01% of it 🤣)

PurpleOkapi · 08/04/2021 19:11

This probably reflects William's thoughts pretty well, but it's well beyond just setting out factual corrections or getting his side of the story out there. The tone really isn't helpful, and I doubt anyone approved it.

I think some of the courtiers do all sorts of stuff.

I have to say, if I were William, DM wouldn’t be outlet of choice (and neither would DW) but maybe he picked up some habits from his Mum, or maybe it’s purely his staff doing this in their own account.

OP posts:
Samcro · 08/04/2021 19:55

Or maybe he and KP had nothing to do with it and DW is just bandwagon jumping.

He certainly is. And he'll act as an immoral puppet for whoever pays him the most.

Except he’s already friends with a palace employee. So Wossgoinon?
