Advice needed: bringing children to an investiture?

I've no idea if I'm posting this in the right category, but... should I bring my two young (3.5 & 7) children to my husband's investiture at Buckingham Palace? Or should I only bring the older one (and is that really fair)? Older one is pretty reliable, have brought him to work receptions before. Younger one is very unpredicatble -- she can be fab, or she can be a horror. The older she gets, the better she gets. No date yet for the ceremony, but presumably in next 4 months, I'd think.

Personally I would not take the younger child.

Just bumping this up (as it was posted when most people are asleep!): any other views, or anyone out there who has taken kids to this sort of event?

under-16s aren't allowed at the garden parties, as far as I remember, and I would doubt they would be able to attend an investiture which is more formal still. Check when you get details from the palace, there will probably be a very full list of dos and donts !!!

You need to is uss it with the inviting Office. There's no age mnimum, but it's really it recommended for under 5s because I goes on for so long (30mins or more as people arrive and take thir seats, then 90 minutes or more for the actual Investitures).

There is nowhere at all to wriggle and it's moment of lifetime for everyone in the room. It really is only for reliable sitters. Cameras are banned, including on phones, so screen based diversions (other than demonstrably old models like iPad1) aren't any help.
