By what looks like on my phone to be Japanese/Chinese text with a website in the title. I am assuming these are not then genuine threads, despite not being able to read them

Yes, I've been reporting too. It's advertising online gaming, I ran it through Google Translate. Bloody annoying there's not some automatic suspension for new posters when the report-to-post ratio gets above a certain level.
