While it's great that this poster is doing so well, I am concerned about the amount of identifying information being disclosed by someone who is so vulnerable.
From the details posted about the cats and posting his real name I now know the name of the cat cafe, the names of several adults known to him, and where he lives. If I was a bad person I could very easily make contact with him claiming to be "a friend of " and start earning his trust.
That is scary shit right there and luckily I am a good person but not everyone is.
The talk guidelines state:
However, on rare occasions where there appears to be a clear need to safeguard the welfare of a Mumsnetter and/or his/her family, it may be necessary to contact relevant authorities about a clearly identifiable member and his/her posts on Mumsnet.
And I really think this applies here. Someone needs to sit him down and explain e-safety, they then need to be supervising his internet use more closely.
