They shouldn't troll hunt on the thread but I imagine it has generated a lot of reports and I hope that posters don't get to emotionally invested.

If I were dying I doubt very much I would enrol on a forum and write that one post and not spend any second with families and friends.
I believe @alicewond might have a point and a wish to protect posters who have been through hospice. Especially posting in chat and not bereavement.
Looks to me like a bait-thread

Until proven otherwise, I'll go with genuine and give the OP my heartfelt blessings at such a difficult time.

The OP posted at 4 a.m. and clearly needed 'someone' to talk to. If the OP found comfort in posting on Mumsnet then who is anyone to judge.

Maybe Alicewond is right to call bullshit but she's not right in saying that everyone who enters a hospice is unaware/comatose/unresponsive/off their face or whatever. I know quite a few people who've gone into a hospice knowing exactly where they're going and why.
