I know. Can't really do anything to help unfortunately. Nightwatchers have limited powers, our brief is to hide obvious trolls and spammers until MNHQ can take a look.

You cant do anything. MNHQ won't get emails til tomorrow but they'd probably advise her to text a friend etc. Im certain even if they were on duty they wouldn't be contacting the Police

If the poster is genuine, I don’t think lots of people posting for updates to “make sure she’s safe” will he’ll the situation given ghf poster claims the partner was trying to get her phone off her. They were directed to the police and the text service. If they can post here, they could use that or contact a family member in real life to call the police.

I've been following the thread but not commented, for personal reasons.

Sadly there isn't much anyone can do, OP needs to help herself by either dialling 999 or leaving and taking the children with her somewhere safe. Even if it's the local a and e, police station, friend or family's house.

As difficult as it is, you shouldn't become emotionally invested. Hence why I just can't comment.

Not sure about this one. Are selfies and posting on mumsnet the first that that would spring to mind after you'd just been assaulted? And if your lip is bleeding the first thing surely is to wipe away the blood?

Selfies are not the norm on here no.
In different contexts ppl.might post photos but not selfies really. Certainly not anything like that

I was a bit dubious about the thread so did a reverse image search on the 1st photo and it doesn't bring up any matches against 2 search databases that look for billions of images - I was wondering whether someone had uploaded a stock image for trolling purposes. I hope OP has got help now.

Well, I don't think trollhunting here or on the thread will help. I did do a reverse image search which didn't turn anything up and, god knows, this sort of thing and worse happens all too often to women.

Yes because if it's a stock image then the situation is not genuine. If it's not a stock image it's either a less obvious wind up or someone in need of help.

Just to add, she didn't seem frightened at the beginning of the thread. More pissed off. Which might explain why she was posting on here rather than taking action.

I thought it counterintuitive to be on mums net on her phone upstairs whilst the dd was downstairs. If she's using her phone to type, she can text her mum or the police.
