The night watch

Note: This topic is primarily for users to flag spam and glaringly obvious trolls to the Night Watch team. If there's a poster who's really worrying you, please do report it to MNHQ in the usual way.

How do we contact the night shift please?

Just that really......

OP posts:
7Seas · 09/01/2018 03:57

Why which thread?

doubleshotespresso · 09/01/2018 03:57

The one 'Anyone around?"

OP posts:
7Seas · 09/01/2018 03:59

9 week baby?

doubleshotespresso · 09/01/2018 04:01

YesOP just came back to the thread

OP posts:
7Seas · 09/01/2018 04:11

Not a good situation. Hope police involved now

doubleshotespresso · 09/01/2018 04:12

Awful and quite scary

OP posts:
Battleax · 09/01/2018 04:30

This one?

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/3134351-anyone-around

I can't see that it's one for NightWatch. All too believable, sadly, and she needs support .

doubleshotespresso · 09/01/2018 04:34

Thanks Battleax I could not link it

Apologies but I thought Nightwatch was to ensure safety out of hours?

I entirely believe the thread which is why I was so disturbed and concerned

Is this not the case?

OP posts:
endofthelinefinally · 09/01/2018 04:34

She was able to type very well, all things considered.

Battleax · 09/01/2018 04:35

NW just hide threads which are iffy for whatever reason. It's their only power.

Battleax · 09/01/2018 04:37

She was able to type very well, all things considered.

I was like that in similar circumstances, despite being injured and bleeding. Very calm and together and very keen not to overreact or upset the baby.

You can't read into that one way or another.

doubleshotespresso · 09/01/2018 04:39

Ah Battleax my error there I thought perhaps where real risks were displayed maybe there was a policy to contact the police or something.... sorry

OP posts:
endofthelinefinally · 09/01/2018 04:39

She says he is asleep and police are on their way.

Battleax · 09/01/2018 04:43

Don't apologise.

It's horrible to read, isn't it?

doubleshotespresso · 09/01/2018 04:43

Yes- baffled as to what the hell the OP'S typing skills have got to do with anything and given the time and content of the post think that's more than unfair.
Police are on their way thank god.

OP posts:
doubleshotespresso · 09/01/2018 04:45

It is horrible yes- makes me wonder how I ever got through it before though it admittedly feels like a lifetime ago until I read threads such as this.

But thank-you I was more than concerned for a bit there.

OP posts:
CheapSausagesAndSpam · 09/01/2018 05:06

If Mumsnet contacted the police for every poster in a situation like that then they'd soon be told to stop.

ANightWatcher · 09/01/2018 05:26

There's nothing on that thread for NW nor is there anything for MNHQ. It's not their job to call the police for posters besides they don't have our addresses Smile

And as we've seen before we don't even know there's a risk there. Not for a second saying that OP isn't genuine but it wouldn't be the first time...

demirose87 · 09/01/2018 07:51

Not sure an internet forum would have the power to do anything in this kind of circumstance. I'm not entirely convinced by the thread either, if I'm being completely honest. I take everything with a pinch of salt on here. Apologies to the OP if it is real.

thebewilderness · 09/04/2018 01:50

This is spam

WhichHatNextPikachu · 09/04/2018 02:11

There's nothing NW can do about this. In any case, if the OP is genuine she is able to post here, therefore she is able to call 999.

CiderwithBuda · 09/04/2018 03:18

WhichHat - the thread in question is from January.

thebewiilderness - this thread is from January. You might be better reporting the spam thread separately.

NiteWotcha · 09/04/2018 03:40

Hi! Yes, as Buda said, that's an old thread.

About the spam, I'll report it and let MNHQ deal with it tomorrow.

Our remit on the Night watch is to deal with blatant, nasty trolls, and out-of-control spamming that threatens to take over the boards.

have a peaceful night Smile

thebewilderness · 09/04/2018 03:43

Sorry! I was just told about the knight watch and boom there cam a spam post and I thought I would try to figure out how to alert the Watch.
Clearly I bollixed it.

NiteWotcha · 09/04/2018 04:01

no worries, thebewilderness

thanks for flagging it - keeps us on our toes Wink
