Please can you take a look, this surely goes against MN ethos.

ooh Trillions. A pa if ever I saw one.

mumsnet are going to take a look in the morning Feenie.

[think that this The Night Watch board feels like an open snitch board. Glad that the whole thing may be tweaked.
Would also like the category to be included at the bottom under the Popular Talk Forums list.]

What? I clicked the thread which is massive. Could you be bothered to explain a bit please?

Feenie · 04/07/2014 20:12

The bit where I posted this had a poster repeatedly having a go at another poster for 'getting' her deleted - which she couldn't possibly have known. The posts have been deleted now.

OP posts:
nilbyname · 04/07/2014 23:18

Riiiiiight....

No one is on this thread because you can't be bothered to say what is going on and your 2 line explanation is ineffective and wearisome. Sorry to be blunt, but jeez if you're going to get on one about something then please afford others the chance to grasp what is happening by way of explanation.

Feenie · 04/07/2014 23:43

It was a five post bullying fest in the middle that I objected to - and so did mn. I posted so mn would see fit to stop the bullying and delete, and they did - I didn't report it to entertain others.

I explained what you asked me to. I'm so sorry that doesn't fit your definition of fascinating.

Maybe you should try the Friday night sex threads?

The Night Watch section exists purely to flag issues up to moderators at night, btw - that's it. That's why it isn't 'full'. Others may comment, but it isn't there to titillate idiots you.

nilbyname.
Mumsnet know that The Night Watch board needs tweaking. They are dealing with it.
Feenie has used the system as it stands, correctly.

There is somewhere on mumsnet where you can read how this board currently works.

nilbyname · 05/07/2014 09:00

I've reported you feenie. Horrible post to me, horrible attacking tone. Shame on you for making assumptions about me.

Farahilda · 05/07/2014 09:04

That's harsh, nilby.

You made a mistake about the role and purpose of the Nightwatch board, and I think you did come across very badly in your earlier posts.

Are you now clearer on what it is here for?

FellReturneth · 05/07/2014 09:09

feenie this is very childish, and a thread about a thread which is in itself worthy of deletion.

Keep your gripes on the thread in question please. this smacks of rounding up some allies to go and give Cote a kicking round the back of the bike sheds. Kim is perfectly capable of standing up for herself.

nilbyname · 05/07/2014 09:24

Nope. It's like you're talking in code.

If you post a thread about a thread, then at least afford "new" readers to the thread some sort of explanation or précis.

Feenie · 05/07/2014 10:37

The Nightwatch is a section SPECIFICALLY to report threads to night mods.

That is what it's there for, that's it's entire raison d'etre.

You can't not have threads about threads here - it's there so posters can do so and get things checked quickly at night.

I used the correct system to flag up an issue at night. Correctly. Without naming names. It isn't childish - it what you are supposed to do.

Nilbynames, your behaviour is astonishing. You asked for an explanation, stating that you couldn't be bothered to read the thread.

I gave you a brief explanation as to why I reported it to MN night moderators.

You then lambasted me for not explaining in enough detail to satisfy your thirst for gossip and told me no wonder my 'thread' was empty. Hmm

And you have the gall to be upset at my answer? Confused

Fellreturneth, please read what The Night Watch is there for and how 'gripes' are dealt with on this self moderating site before you make yourself look even more daft - I didn't 'round up allies', I reported to MNHQ.

FellReturneth · 05/07/2014 11:20

Apologies Feenie I have just returned to MN after a long break and I have never seen the topic 'night watch' before. I didn't even note what topic your post was in.

I see now that you have used the topic correctly, but I am still inclined to agree with this:

'think that this The Night Watch board feels like an open snitch board. Glad that the whole thing may be tweaked.'

Cote seems to be being deleted left right and centre on that thread, so surely she is getting her just desserts there and there is really no need to bring it here?

Anyway. Meh.

Feenie · 05/07/2014 11:29

I reported it before any deletions were made. Night moderation is scant, so the posts may have been there all night unless they were flagged up - and I was careful not to name names. So no, no one was 'getting a kicking' at the time of reporting - apart from the victim I was concerned about.

Any anonymity - which was entirely possible after the deletions, btw, no one would really have known what was going on once the offending posts had disappeared - is wrecked because you've named posters specifically.

OP posts:
settingsitting · 05/07/2014 11:30

Personally I didnt have a clue who Feenie was talking about.

But I dont need to and nor does anyone else.

At night, there is no one at mumsnet HQ.
Therefore the only way to report and maybe get listened to and acted on, is by using this system.

This is an open report system for all to see. So it has its limitations which mumsnet are going to sort.

Goblinchild · 05/07/2014 11:39

Hi Feenie.
Do the right thing, get a kicking from the uninformed...just like real life. Smile
I hope you don't give up on the Night Watch, it was set up to stop some of the nasty nocturnal trolling that went on and someone needs to be awake to spot the unpleasantness and flag it up to MNHQ.
Though I did think it would be posters in Australia and western USA that would be monitoring it rather than insomniac UK residents.

Feenie · 05/07/2014 11:40

Hi Goblinchild - you made me laugh, as always Grin

You have no idea how much sheer pleasure I get out of a full night's sleep of stress-free snoozing. You won't be seeing me posting at stupid o'clock any more. Grin

Feenie · 05/07/2014 11:55

You do seem to be a fantastic advert for supply teaching, I have to say!
