British Shorthair sick everyday

I would appreciate some advice. I've adopted my late mum's BSH. He's always been a bit of a puker due to a sensitive stomach.

He's vomiting almost daily now, sometimes with hairballs and sometimes without. I took him to the vets who suggested giving him Purina Pro plan gastrointestinal cat food. He has this as wet food in gravy. But it's made no difference.

I'm taking him back to the vets but I'd welcome advice from others who have been through the same thing. Any recommendations for alternative food that might be better for him?

He's 12 years old, has a heart murmur and is otherwise well. Thank you.

Specialist hairball kibble, the paste you put on their paws to assist with hairball passing. Do you groom him plenty?

How is his 💩

Has he had a blood test for kidneys and thyroid? They often present as vomiting.

Girlcat is the Goddess of hairballs, I get at least one or two a week all year round. I feed a mix of Indoor (which includes anti hairball) and Hairball Royal Canin which seems to have reduced it a bit over the years. I also use hairball tubes, the Churo ones are her favorites of those. She won't deign to eat hairball crunchy treats though.

Bless him. I feed my sweet puker a raw diet called Purrform; it’s made a huge difference in her quality of life and her fur. She’s 11 now but I started her on the raw food when she was 6. I suspect she was given up by her previous owners because of her bad stomach problems.

I used Amazon grain free food for my recreational puking Persian.
it helped massively. She was occasionally sick after that. But it massively reduced.

Thanks everyone. I shall ask for a blood test and look at the other food options. It's so worrying and I love him dearly.

Yes we use Purrform rabbit too it’s amazing for sensitive tummies

Royal Canin Digestive stopped mine vomiting, she has been fine since I put her on this.

Aww what a beautiful boy.

My cat was sick almost every day. We had absolutely everything tested but never got a definitive diagnosis.
The best they could come up was tht he had a flaccid oesophagus which they said was similar to a baby having reflux.

It was a nightmare as we had to have dark coloured bedding as he'd be sick on the bed during the night.
