Suddenly passed

My lovely boy has just passed away, I'm guessing heart failure, he was in pretty good health 14 and 1/2 and all fine today.
Got home from work around 6, all normal but around 8.30 started breathing a bit heavy so kept an eye but although moving around and popping to the loo seemed restless, anyway he got worse and seemed to seize and now he's gone.
I did contemplate the vets but it's a long drive, he absolutely hates the car and vets and I know it would have stressed him out so much he more than likely would have passed on the way scared, rather than where he was at home with me by his side.
Got to get through work tomorrow, tell dd and get him to the vets as I don't have a garden although can't afford it really.
I still have my other boy, they weren't best buddies but tolerated each other so will see if this changes anything.
Don't think I'll sleep tonight 🥲

I'm so sorry 😞
I'm glad you were there with him and I'm sure that gave him great comfort ❤️ Big hugs xxxxx

I’m so sorry for the loss of your boy, you done the right thing keeping him at home with you ❤️

Aww what a shame, so sudden ☹️

It sounds like a "good" way to go though (if you know what I mean) - at home, surrounded by his family and his familiar things.

Keep an eye on your other boy, he may feel a bit lost for a few days, although I must admit that our cats always adapted really quickly when we lost one.

Take care 🤗

Thank you, it was just unexpected but I do think although not nice it wasn't a bad way to go, at home and fairly quick,
I've looked up my vets and I'll have to drop him off after work tomorrow as they open the same time as I start, just wish there was some sort of pricing etc on the website so I can work out what best to do before contacting them.

Hi @swapsicles .

Obviously costs will vary, but I've had a look at the pet crematorium that my vet uses and the prices are on there if you want to have a look. I won't add a link as I understand you are probably feeling overwhelmed right now and maybe not able to read anything like that just yet.

If you feel ready to have a look, they're called cpccares.com and the pricing is clearly available there, so that'll give you a rough idea.

I am so sorry OP. We had ours cremated by a local independent and iirc they did allow payment plans so do ask.

Hugs to you and the other furry monster ❤

I am so sorry. Kitty knew he was loved right to the end...and beyond.
