Has anyone any experience of this. Clovers skin culture is negative for ringworm after 4 weeks. So I think It’s not that. Her eye ulcer isn’t healing. So i‘m thinking herpes. The rescue are still convinced it’s ringworm. But it’s not adding up.

Yes, the vet was pretty sure our previous cat had it, although it was never diagnosed as such. She was prone to eye infections which we treated as and when, and had very sensitive skin but was mostly healthy throughout her life. She died at 15 from unrelated conditions. Our new kitten definitely has it but she hasn’t been to the vet yet (only had her 12 days) - she has an intermittently weepy eye and sniffles. I believe it can be treated fairly straightforwardly but will see what vet says when we take her and her sister in on Saturday. It’s extremely common.

I knew about her skin condition, which isn't a symptom of Feline Herpes, but didn't realise she had the eyes/nose/breathing things that do go with it.

I was about to say I assume they've ruled out any allergies, but there are so many things cats can be potentially allergic to that it can be almost impossible to rule them all out.

I don’t know if they’ve ruled out an allergy. They are still convinced it’s ringworm. But doesn’t explain why the ulcer isn’t healing.

He hasn't been officially diagnosed, but vet and eye specialist both think he's got it, as everything I've taken him it's for something to do with his breathing/eye.

He's now eight, it hasn't really been a problem until recently. He's got reactive (from Herpes) eosinophilic keratitis in one eye. Annoyingly he has to be seen by eye specialist each time before I can get drops. He's a dear little thing, and clearly hates the eye drops. His brother has no symptoms.

He was a rescue - came from a house of four cats and six kittens. Vet said it seems to be more common in rescues.

One thing I've been told is not to let his vaccinations lapse as they greatly protect him from illnesses.

She’s just had her vaccines. She’s seeing an eye specialist.
