My cat wont' stop pooping and weeing outside of the litter tray. She s only 6 months old and has access to outdoors in the daytime. Where she does most of her business. But on the odd occasion I've noticed she is pooping INSIDE the house. We tried the usual steps, cleaning it up and setting up litter trays where she pooed on the floor, blocking narrow corners where she was going to do her business. She very rarely uses her tray although she had done this on her first week when she was confined to the downstairs rooms and not the kitchen.
But the problem is, we have a really old kitchen -- the area under the kitchen counters is old, dirty already and difficult to clean. We have had a leakage problem which makes it already quite gross to begin with - and we have a renovation scheduled for September.
Today I've discovered that she's pooed on the corner between the washing machine and the wall! I'm totally disgusted! The washing machine is not integrated so even after the build there's going to be a significant gap. I will try and get rid of it today somehow but what can I do to prevent this in the future?Should I confine her to the living/dining areas so that she doesn't do this again?
