Best brushes for a floof

My grey floof ball has Velcro fur and picks up detritus every time he goes out. He even picked up a slug once!

As a result he gets brushed pretty much everyday. Fortunately he likes this and thinks it is his due to be pampers and preened.

We currently have a pet version of a tangle teezer which seems to work great for his back and tail and rubbish at keeping his tummy matt free. Also not sure it is getting deep enough to remove the undercoat when needed.

I thought I would ask what is the best cat brushes for long hair moggies?

Omg he’s gorgeous!!
I’ve got a 3/4 ragdoll 1/4 Persian who’s nearly 2 & just reached full floof but is so feisty when I try to brush her, she literally bites the brush. Her brush is a tangle teezer one as well. So I’ve bought gauntlets off amazon and going to try brushing her wearing them. Luckily she doesn’t seem to have an undercoat & never matts up.
My old cat was very long haired, a semi feral black moggie, and equally hated being brushed but needed it alternate days at least! She did have an undercoat and matted easily. So I wore leather gloves for protection. Basically I had to use a metal comb. Which did get all the matts out. You can get metal combs on amazon too.

@KittenTax sympathy here!
Loads of fur on the carpet but still leaves and sodding sticky willy plants stuck to tail and bum

Your cat is lovely, OP! Our boy is very hairy for a short haired cat, and gets brushed every evening. He comes and gets me when he hears the dishwasher go on after human dinner then it’s brush, Dreamies, out. I have two brushes I use, a silicon one which is good for the undercoat, then I go over it with a more wiry one. I often brush him “backwards” if he’s really shedding. Fortunately he enjoys it and is very tolerant!

My Persians had metal combs. And a professional groom
every 3 months.
